DIRECTOR'S STATEMENT
Your first film always holds a special place in your heart. When Xhezon approached me and told me he's been wanting to make a movie, my heart sunk. I've known I've wanted to be a filmmaker for a while, but now was the time to do what every filmmaker dreads—make a movie.

He told me he wanted it to be dark, so I set off writing. The script I came up with later became Afraid (2018); however, we experienced a setback when we discovered that the festival we wanted to submit to does not allow mature subject matter.

Instead of scrapping Afraid, we decided to make two films. That's when What Money Can't Buy came to be. To this day, I still watch it and cringe, but I look back very fondly on my first filmmaking experience.
